FAQ

Q. How does Pittsville Homes exterior wall system differ from other manufacturers?
|
A. Pittsville Homes exterior wall system is built with 2x6's, 16" o.c., high density R-21 fiberglass insulation in the stud cavity, 5/8" insulation board on the inside wall with 1/2" drywall over the insulation board. We can achieve an R-27 wall out of the system we use (a standard 2x6 wall construction is R-20). By using the insulation board, you have insulation over the studs which prevents cold spots on the wall. We encourage you to tour the plant at Pittsville or contact your Authorized Pittsville Homes Builder to see the difference in our wall construction.

Q. What else does Pittsville Homes do during construction to make sure that my home is energy efficient?
|
A. Pittsville Homes uses GreenGuard Ultra Wrap Housewrap, to provide superior air and moisture resistance. Ultra Wrap features one of the highest perm ratings on the market, which means superior moisture vapor transmission. Think of it as a windbreaker for your home, keeps unwanted air and water outside to help create a comfortable living environment. We also caulk all electrical boxes on the exterior walls to minimize the air infiltration around the boxes.

Q. What is the advantage of modular over stick-built?
|
A: A modular home is built in a controlled environment. Weather is not a factor during construction. (The weather is always perfect for building at Pittsville Homes). Also, because there is less onsite time of the home from start to completion, there is less chance of theft of materials on the jobsite. The walls, floors and roofs are constructed on jigs to make sure that they are all constructed square and that they will all fit together. It is amazing how a modular home manufacturer can build a two story home (four sections) and have them assembled on site and all the doorways, center openings and exteror walls match up perfectly. You are invited to tour the factory and see for yourself how accurate and precise the construction process is.

Q: What is the difference between a modular and a mobile or manufactured home?
|
A: A modular home is built to the State of Wisconsin UDC (Uniform Dwelling Code) and a mobile or manufactured home built to HUD code. (A stick-built home is built to the State of Wisconsin UDC). A modular home will appreciate in value just as a stick built home and you should be able to finance your modular home in the same manner as a stick-built home.

| Q. How can I obtain pricing information on a Pittsville Home? |
| A. It is best to contact the Pittsville Homes builder for your area. He will be able to give you a price on a completed Pittsville Home including your basement, garage, onsite hookups, etc. After the builder sees your lot and goes over your floor plan, he will be able to give you the cost of the home delivered and completed, ready for you to move in. There are so many variables that can play into the price that we would not be aware of onsite that for us to quote you a cost estimate can be way off, that is why we suggest you contact the builder for the cost information. |
